We love you, and we love social distancing, so we’re going live! These are the same classes you know and love, but through the web so we can safely enjoy our favorite subjects together, but a safe distance away. You get the same instructors, tasting, and content from the comfort of your own home.

Intro to Salumi

What is salumi, exactly? Cured meat! Salumi is the Italian word for these delectable bits of culinary tradition (charcuterie is the same, just in French!).
Learn about the magical process of fermentation that makes salumi the special food that it is. We will delve into a few of the delicious details surrounding the history, traditions, and techniques that create the unique flavors and textures within the meats we know and love. You will taste your way through Southern European and New World creations made according to age-old techniques by true artisans with a few cheese and antipasto items thrown in to show you how to take your knowledge home to host your own pairing party. Get tips on how to best shop for and store your salumi selections once you get them home. Our alcohol offerings have been expertly paired to round out the cured meat-lover experience.
Here’s a quick run-down of our registration options, next steps once completed, and what to expect at one of our virtual classes:
  • Both options will be shipped to arrive a day or two before class. Please keep all cured meats refrigerated until an hour before class begins.
  • Pick up is available only on the day of the class at our Downtown store and will be ready by 1pm same day
  • We’ll email guests with a link to download our meeting platform a day in advance to give you time to troubleshoot any tech issues.
  • Another email will go out the day of the class with the link to join our private virtual classroom.
  • Bites for one person is roughly 1/2 ounce of each cured meat
  • Enough for the whole family is roughly 1/4 pound of each meat
Please note: All online cancellations require 72 hours notice. Food is prepared and shipped in advance and cannot be re-purposed.
