Made from only the freshest, local cows milk in central Switzerland, this extra-hard cheese’s unique qualities share similarities with both Parmigiano, and aged Gouda.
An AOP certified cheese made in central Switzerland. Its history dates back to the 13th century, when the Sbrinz route was founded. That route, still in existence today, was how the wheels were transported by pack mule, to Italy. Made only in the summer months, at high elevation, and with the majority of milk from brown Swiss cows, Sbrinz and its rich history is cherished in Switzerland. Aged for a minimum of 18 months, however, its optimal age is 24 months or older.
