Original Beans is pushing sustainability in a big way. Each bar purchased, plants one tree, cacao growing project in The Congo, etc. Yet it stands up to much more expensive chocolate very hand. Original Beans won the Utah Chocolate Society’s “March Madness” bracket style chocolate competition in 2012 and 2013. (Beni Wild Harvest, Bolivia and Cru Virunga, Congo respectively). It is really uncanny how good this chocolate is. Definitely, the best Swiss made chocolate and solid contender for best in the world.
Original Beans has taken a personal and vested interest in the Virunga National Park area of Congo and has worked tirelessly to develop the cocoa in the region. Strengthening women of the region with seedlings, training, and women’s groups has helped create an elegant, powerful milk bar of chocolate from the Virunga region
