Description
Doce means sweet in Portuguese and perfectly represents their fruitiest, smoothest oil. Made from Galega, one of Portugal’s oldest and rarest native varietals, it is endlessly versatile. Use it generously to cook, to add a finishing sweetness to salads or dishes, or just mop it up with fresh bread.
This year’s Doce comes from a beautiful farm in the Northern Alentejo, where Bernardo Marchante and his family have been protecting these trees for four generations. As other farmers chase high-yielding olives, Bernardo knows Galega is a flavor worth protecting.
