Tins to make you rethink what the canning industry has to offer. From sous vide to woodfire grilled, these micro makers are defining the genre.

With tinned fish finding its moment in the limelight, now is a more important time than ever to prioritize and promote artisan production, human hands, and sustainable canneries. As national interest in this commodity grows, so will the glitzy brands eager to capitalize on its success. We can already see and trace this, and it’s essential that we highlight groups leading small, family owned, human operated productions that put our planet first.

Artesanos Alalunga is owned by two brothers who work with a single cannery on the Cantabrian Sea to pack their fully traceable tins. Gueyu Mar grills whatever the ocean brings them, sends half to their dining room, and packs the rest in creative and cheeky wrappings for us to enjoy when we please. Wildfish bought canning equipment to preserve their personal catches for longer, and eventually realized that sharing is caring too. ABC+ was crafted by 100 Misterios who started Portugal's smallest cannery, JOSE Gourmet, to go even smaller and beta-test all the experimental sauces they could dream up.

These four players represent some of the finest folks in the industry, and we’re honored to have them on our shelves. These tins represent some of the most innovative work from these trendsetters we hope more will choose to follow. If you love tinned fish, this is not a set to miss.
