Want to experience brie as it’s meant to be in France, but can’t travel and won’t break the law? Brie Fermier is your move.
Traditional brie is made with young, unpasteurized milk which lends to its characteristic punchy, earthy flavors. The FDA has more stringent regulations and true brie is not available in the USA. Brie Fermier follows the same farming practices (farmhouse cheese – small format) and employs carefully selected cultures to create flavors closely resembling what we’d expect to find in France.
MILK: pasteurized cow’s milk
TASTING: punchy, mushroomy, brussels sprouts, fresh milk
SERVING: excellent alongside pork with mustard and pickles
PAIRING: crisp and/or bubbly whites, agave spirits, pilsner beer
