Matt Caputo’s yiayia (Greek for grandmother) was born and raised in Chania (pronounced “han-ya”), Crete. Their family heritage is deep and their passion for food is a part of the culture. In the search for an olive oil to represent Caputo’s, it was obvious that it would come from here. Crete is an island that consumes more olive oil per capita than anywhere in the world. The selections are vast, and ours was selected for its versatility and smooth, consistent buttery taste.
