Description
Grown on small farms along the banks of the Ucayali River, this Peruvian cacao offers herbal notes of lemon verbena and fig in dark chocolate.
This bar is made from cacao grown on small farms along the Ucayali River, on Peru’s eastern coast. The Ucayali River Cacao Cooperative works closely with hundreds of small farmers, helping them to survive by paying a premium for the wet cacao to then carry out the essential drying and fermentation processes with expertise and precision in a newly built facility. They also sort the cacao in a custom built sorting machine, to ensure it is ready to roast once purchased by a craft chocolate maker.
