Albacore, yellowfin, bluefin, and skipjack. Or, tuna, tuna, tuna, and tuna. Take your tastebuds on an educational journey with our Tuna Types Tinned Fish Guide.

As you may already know, "tuna" is more a classification than the descriptor of one specific fish. From skipjack, which maxes out at 3'7" and 76lbs, to Atlantic bluefin which can span a whopping 15ft and >2000lbs, there are lots of options for what goes inside your tin. All that without the consideration of Bonito (confusingly, completely different from Bonito del Norte [Albacore], and more closely related to mackerel), which is often mis-labeled as "tuna" without any legal right to the name.

It's a lot to cover, and you've got a lot to taste. We've done the work of outlining what's what, where it comes from, and how each differs in our Tuna Types Tinned Fish Guide (included in this sampler!). Nerd out with us, and enjoy a taste of each tuna type along the way.
