Deeply rich and flavored of the earth, this wild grown cacao is harvested from the banks of the Iaco river in the Brazilian amazon.
Initiated as a project to re-employ indigenous communities who were left without sources of commerce or income once the rubber trade dried up, this cacao holds true to Luisa’s mission. Here, as in many other river basins, cacao extraction plays an important role in keeping the forest standing. Unique flavors in this chocolate change with the harvest year and are expressive of their rich tropical terroir.
